During the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, gymnastics champion Kohei Uchimura was shocked to find that he'd racked up $5,000 in roaming charges playing Pokemon Go in between his competitions. He isn't the first gamer to be surprised by a costly phone bill at the end of the month. Anyone with a data limit is at least a little paranoid that they'll end up like Uchimura.

To do this follow these steps: Start by pressing the Xbox button to open the guide. Verify that the game or app you wish to close is highlighted from the mini-guide on the left side of the screen, and then press the Menu button on your controller. Game size in gigabytes will be stated when purchasing from the Xbox Store. For example, the new Mortal Kombat X weighs in at 34.66GB so depending on your broadband speed this could take anywhere between 30 minutes on a 200Mb/s connection and 40 hours on a 2Mb/s connection. When you are talking about a 15 minute install on both consoles, 30 seconds is hardly anything (especially since you only do it once). Speaking of install times - why does everyone compare them??

If you play Fortnite on your phone or on an installed broadband connection, it's a good idea to keep an eye on your data use. Even if you don't have a data limit, you'll want to make sure you qualify as a 'normal user' under your carrier's Fair Usage Policy. This typically means using 50 GB of data or less per month.

Even when you insert the offline disk for playing a game, the console will look for updates over the internet. Many users have complained of Xbox One updates being slow, and some downloads taking a long time to finish. Here I shall discuss some ways in which you can troubleshoot Xbox One updates slow. It'll ask you if you're happy for it to update Fortnite as it may take a while, so just confirm it and let it get on. Cyberpunk 2077 Download & Install Size (PS4, Xbox One, PC) Xseed Games.

Whatever data limit you're trying to stay under, here's how much Fortnite uses:

Fortnite gameplay uses 12+ MB per game

On Epic Games forums, gamers report using anywhere between 45 and 100 MB per hour playing Fortnite. That means a typical 15-minute game uses between 12 and 24 MB of mobile data. That isn't bad. Since there are about 1,000 MB per GB, you'd need to play between 40 and 85 games of Fortnite to use just 1 GB of mobile data.

Different users report different usage statistics because the data you use during gameplay depends heavily on your game settings. To find out exactly how much your gameplay costs you, monitor your data usage with your carrier (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile) during gameplay or use a free traffic monitoring application like Netlimiter to track bandwidth usage.

What if you monitor your bandwidth usage, just to find out you're on the fast track to an overage charge? Reduce your usage quickly by adjusting your game settings. Basically, whatever settings make the game run faster also use less data. This means lower resolution, lower frame rate limit, shorter view distance, lower texture, and lower effects.

While it's hard to use a lot of data playing Fortnite (it takes a serious time commitment), it isn't hard to use a lot of data downloading the game onto your phone, computer, or game console. The PC download for Battle Royale, for example, hovers dangerously close to 20 GB. The iOS download for that version, too, is a hefty 2 GB.

We know about the install sizes for the Xbox One's launch titles, which you can view here, but ever wondered how much time it would take for you to download each title?

We decided to do a rough calculation for the same using Numion. For instance, with a 10 Mbps connection, Battlefield 4's 33 GB will take roughly 7 hours and 20 minutes to download. Call of Duty: Ghosts' 39 GB will take roughly 8 hours and 40 minutes on the same connection. Of course, if you're lucky enough to have a 1 Gbps connection, you can have your game ready in a matter of minutes. We wonder how many people are lucky enough.

Looking at these file sizes and the bandwidth which Microsoft takes into account when offering them for download, it will certainly be interesting to see how streaming Xbox 360 games over the Cloud works. Some titles are no more than 14 GB or so in size. Will today's connections serve as enough of an impetus to offer game streaming? We'll have to wait and find out but as it is, Microsoft's Albert Penello has already stated concerns about bandwidth for streaming games online.

The Xbox One is slated to release on November 22nd across 13 territories worldwide.
